Live Riga's Gold Dolphins @ Cannes
The series of tourism promotion videos created by the Riga Tourism Development Bureau (or Live Riga) have received two awards - two Gold Dolphins - at the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards festival in France,.
The series, Insider's Guide in Riga, were named among the winners in two categories - Tourism Films and Social Media & Short Videos. Altogether more than 1,000 films from 40 countries participated in the competition.
The series comprising five videos were created in cooperation with DDB Latvia advertising agency, and the producer was Latvian film director Janis Nords.
The Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards is an international festival dedicated to corporate films, online media and TV productions, and takes place every October in Cannes, France, since 2010. The festival is often referred to as one of the most important festivals in the corporate film industry.
The Riga Tourism Development Office (RTAB) was established in late 2009 by the Riga City Council (70%), the Latvian national air carrier airBaltic (10%), the Latvian Hotel and Restaurant Association (10%) and the Association of Latvian Tourism Agents (10%) for promotion of tourism and Riga as a tourism destination for foreign travelers.
